The Footsteps of Jesus | You are a travel agent, creating one of those “Footsteps of Jesus” itineraries for church people who can afford a sightseeing trip to the Holy Land. The group you are planning for will be tracing his steps from Matthew 14:34 to the end of chapter 17. Where will the tour group go? How many stops will be involved? It is also your job to suggest a portion of the scritpture to be read at each stop. List the devotional readings you will suggest to them at each stop. Coloring Outside the Lines? | We often hear talk of Jesus as one who crossed boundaries, that is, who stepped over traditional limits and patterns of behavior in order to reach out to others. Investigate this oft-quoted element of Jesus' character. Argue for or against this view of Jesus based on his action and language about places in the gospels. (There are other types of boundaries to cross or leave intact, but Jesus' relationship to place is the focus of your argument here.) Whether you choose to create a visual representation of your thesis, such as a poster, movie or PowerPoint presentation, or a verbal representation, such as a 4- to 5-page double-spaced essay, make sure viewers/readers will be able to trace your steps through texts of the New Testament.
